Runway use
For several weeks now, the wind has been blowing from the North-North/East, which means that runways 25L and 25R are not being used, but runways 07R/L and/or 01 are.
In addition, at certain times, work is being carried out, some of which is still ongoing.
At Brussels Airport, all runways and taxiways are continuously inspected by the relevant departments to continue to guarantee the safety of the passengers and the operations. If damage or irregularities to the runway pavement are detected, an assessment is made as to the urgency of an intervention and the delay within which maintenance works should be carried out.
Following several observations, limited works have already been carried out on runways 25L/07R and 01/19 over the past period. On Tuesday 6 June, a thorough inspection takes place on runway 07R/25L, which means the runway is not operational between 10am and 6pm.
This will have an impact on runway use, meaning that the PRS cannot be followed during the works. Works required afterwards will also be undertaken and announced.
All works with impact on runway use are announced on the BATC .be website.
