Runway 01/19 to be resurfaced this summer
From 7 August to 1 September 2024 Brussels Airport will resurface runway 01/19. The works are scheduled in such a way as to minimise the impact on the PRS as much as possible.
Brussels Airport will be renovating runway 01/19 this summer. The top layer of the asphalt needs to be replaced to guarantee the good condition and safety of the runway.
To allow for the works, the runway will be closed between 7 August and 1 September 2024 with work being carried out between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.
This will have an impact on the runway use, which means that it will not always be possible to apply the PRS ( Preferential Runway System ). The selection of runways in use is made by the air traffic services provider skeyes based on runway availability and weather conditions, with the primary aim of ensuring the safety of air navigation.
Runway use, wind conditions, any planned works and their potential impact on runway use, are always announced on this website.
