Brussels Airport is operated by Brussels Airport Company, the limited company to which the Belgian State granted the operating licence. 75% of the company's shares are held by a consortium of private investors. The Belgian State has an interest of 25% of the shares.

In May 2022, Brussels Airport officially presented its new strategy for the coming five years. A strategy focusing on clear priorities and addressing the challenges of today. With SHIFT 2027, and the tag line "Wider horizons, sustainable ambitions", Brussels Airport  wants to further strengthen its position as a major European hub, ambitiously focus on sustainability and diversify its activities, with a clear commitment to innovation and partnership.
